Retail Store selling Revelations early!

A user from the NeoGaf forums bought 3 retail copies of Resident Evil Revelations HD for the Xbox 360. Here’s how he found them:
This is kind of bizarre, but I just found 3 copies of the Xbox 360 version of this game at Target. The real kicker? They were in the clearance section with an “online item” clearance sticker on them. The price? A whopping $12.56. Yeahhhh…I bought all 3.
He posted the above picture as proof. He later sold all 3 copies on Ebay.

In related news, the digital copy of the game is already available on PSN (Japan) and for  PC.

Revelations playable demo coming soon!

Capcom has confirmed that a demo of Resident Evil: Revelations HD is on the way to home consoles.

Here’s Capcom’s official statement:
Even though Revelations is a known quantity and a solid RE game to boot, today we’re happy to announce there will be a playable demo coming to Xbox Live, PSN, Nintendo eShop and Steam. So for those who still haven’t sampled the claustrophobic hallways of the Queen Zenobia, you’ll soon have a chance to do so free of charge.
The exact date is still TBD, but given that the game’s out on May 21 (24 EU), it can’t be far off.

New details about the Wii U version of Revelations!

Capcom producer, Takenaka, shared a few details about the Wii U version of Resident Evil: Revelations in a recent article:
  • The graphics engine was written specifically for the Nintendo Wii U. They did this in order to make the game “fit the hardware”.
  • All of the lighting effects and filters have been rebuilt from the ground up, which improves the general quality of the environments.
  • Takenaka-san boasted that there are definitely features in the Nintendo Wii U version that are not found on other consoles.
  • For instance, the map and inventory is displayed on the GamePad, not the TV. Because of this, there is no need to pause the game to interact with either.
  • ‘Off TV Play’ has been confirmed - Allows players to continue playing the game on the GamePad, whenever someone else uses the TV.
  • Includes Pro Controller compatibility for those that want to play “old school”.
Producer Takenaka also mentioned something that might help explain the lack of a Vita version:
“With the 3DS game we were able to use the hardware to create a great sense of immersion and atmosphere,” Takenaka-san tells us. “However, we heard from a lot of players who said they wanted to be able to play the game on a big TV screen. We decided to respond to that demand.”
So it seems that from the very start, a portable port wasn’t in the cards. However, with the recent Vita price cut that allowed the system to return to prominence in the Japanese market, the possibility of such a port is not too far-fetched.
